Stratford Square Mall

Stratford Square is a mall that is located in Bloomingdale Illinois and opened on March 9, 1981. They have 6 anchor spots but 4 are vacant. The old Macy’s department store is going to be a woodmans (coming soon) the previous anchors were sears, Carson’s, Macy’s, and JCPenney. The mall originally opened with Montgomery Ward, Marshall Fields, Wieboldt's, sears and MainStreet.


History:

In 1988 Wieboldt's closed and became a JCPenney the year after.

On November 15, 1999 the mall finished a renovation.

In 2005 Fieldman properties acquired Stratford square. Also the theater was expanded.

In 2006 Marshall Fields became Macy's. After Macy’s purchased the brand.

On January 16th 2014 JCPenney said they would close there store at Stratford square.

On January 4, 2017, Macy's said they would close there store at Stratford square.

On April 18, 2018, Carson’s announced that they would close all there stores.

On August 6, 2019, Sears said they were going to close there store at Stratford square.

On October 10, 2019 Namdar acquired the mall property.

In 2020 lots of places started leaving including,

Victoria’s Secret

Round 1

25 west brewery

and Scoobies to name a few.

Children’s place closed at the beginning of January.

Express, painted penguin, and Cinemark theaters is now closed at Stratford square. As of March 15th the Mexican place closed in the food court.

The Clairs moved across the street in June and the Bath and body works closed in June.

The haircuts moved to the strip mall across the street and to Woodfield mall in May/June.

As of August 22nd Omar’s home furniture is closing.
