Target Canada was the Canadian subsidiary of Untied States based discount department store chain, Target Corporation. It was established in 2013 [1]after acquiring 200 leases to the now defunct Canadian discount chain, Zellers. The chain had 133 stores at it's peak before ceasing operations in Canada in January, 2015 due to bankruptcy.[1]

Target announced on January 3rd 2011 that they were going to purchase the lease agreements of up to 220 Zellers stores for CAD$1.825 billion.
